Introduction

Optience REX is a comprehensive software suite that aids chemists and chemical engineers to analyze chemical reaction systems and thereby develop strategies to maximize their yield performance.

REX Projects facilitates reasoning from the experimental data through kinetic modeling. Different mechanisms can be evaluated against experimental data for kinetic parameter estimation and easy analysis. Once the mechanism and kinetics are identified, Virtual Experimentation and Reactor Optimization studies can also be conducted by building case studies for yield/profit maximization.

On a standard REX installation, a collection of reaction models is available in the REX Library . On Customized installations, REX Library can be used to connect to corporate reaction databases. You may import reaction information from the Library in order to evaluate strategies for experimentation/reactor optimization or as a template for new projects.

The REX Projects Suite is implemented as an application in the Optience Core Platform. The REX Architecture document provides more information on the architecture. To get started with using REX, visit the Using REX Projects document. Context Sensitive Help is available on each grid in REX through the F1 key. The context sensitive help is activated only when that grid is selected, or by clicking anywhere in the grid and then using the F1 key.
